Aliyah Ephraim
Nov. 06,2008 – Thur.
Shalom, my name is Ephraim. This is my first blog and i am excited to have found this great community.
My wife, children and i are new converts to Judaism and are of Sephardic decent. We have been astonished at the tell tale signs we have discovered about our Sephardic background by simply learning Torah.
i look forward to contributing our experiences of growing up as natural born Americans, socialized as Greico-Romans, loving and searching for G-d as Christians, and finally arriving to the beginning of a true walk with the Jewish Messiah, Y’shua (a.k.a. Jesus). We were gentiles an are now engrafted to the true olive tree with the understanding that the TaNaK is not just collection of History and Law exclusively for "Natural born Jews," but for all of G-d’s covenant people through Y’shua Ha’ Mashiach.
i have been on a quest to help others like us, because America is full of Prodigals. Most are Christians, and of those Christians, some are truthseekers with a sincere desire to find G-d, but many others are content and convinced of the doctrines and traditions of men, and will not see or hear. i have called my quest Finding Ephraim and you can find this information at this link: Finding Ephraim
My next project is to learn all i can about the possibility of Aliyah for Ephraim. Which i hope to use this forum to begin to labor on that bridge that many other laborers have already begun.
If you have any information about the possibility of Aliyah for Messianic families around the world, please leave a comment. i understand that the Negev is opening up, but to what extent i do not know. i know that anyone can move to Israel and become a citizen, but to Aliyah is to be accepted as belonging to the commonwealth of Israel based on Holy Scripture; and that is what we as Messianic Hebrews desire.

edah1308 commented on February 06, 2009: What about the dignity of G-d's people being trumped by this discriminatory Law of Return? Even within Jewish Halakha, the concept of Kavod HaBriyot tranlated in English literally means "honor [of/due] to the [God's] creations." exists. Permitting exceptions to Rabbinic decrees under certain circumstances. Could it be that there is a way around this religious discrimination? How does Orthodox Judaism avoid seeing the reality of G-d's divine influence in the New Testament and the truth of its claims? |
Eliyahu commented on February 02, 2009: Many Messianic’s who want to imigrate to Israel are faced with the challange that the Israeli government will deny them citenzenship or declare that they are no longer Jewish. This is a quote from a letter I recieved from the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “Messianic Jews who are citizens also enjoy equal rights. However, a Messianic Jew from abroad who seeks to become an Israeli citizen will not be considered acceptable under the Law of Return” The Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs (IMFA) has stated as who is a Jew. I have since researched this in greater detail. The Law of Return established as Law on July 5 1950 and revised in 1954 and again in 1970. It was not until 1970 that the addition of the definition of who is a Jew in regards specifically to this Law only stating in section 4b’s definition: “For the purposes of this Law, “Jew” means a person who was born of a Jewish mother or has become converted to Judaism and who is not a member of another religion.” Why 1970, because throughout the sixties Messianic Judaism also known as Hebrew Christians were on the increase and Jews that believed in Yeshua (Jesus) were returning to Israel under the Law of Return. So to prevent these Jews from returning to Israel they amended the Law to define who was acceptable as a Jew making it based on religion and not lineage. The IMFA stated “As such, the Law of Return is not a privilege set apart for members of the Jewish faith and denied to non-Jews; the bestowal of the “right of return” to Israel to non-Jews or to persons without a Jewish relative is illogical and contradicts the principal purpose of setting up a Jewish State as prescribed by the UN Resolution of November 1947” In simple the basis of who is a Jew in the 1970 amendment permits discrimination against Jews that hold to their Jewish History, support Israel but by this amendment alone calls them non-Jews which makes it that a person is only permitted under the Law of Return if they participate or adhere to Rabbinical Judaism. |
