How to Upload a Video?
Can someone please help walk me through uploading a video to this website? I think it’s so amazing that TMC is offering its members the ability to upload our personal videos to share with our community, and I just want to make sure I’m doing the process correctly! Thanks!

TMC commented on July 13, 2008: Your video should be less than 5 minutes in length or 1 mbyte in size. Our software automatically compresses your video and converts it into Flash (which makes it play automatically). Pretty cool, huh? |

josiah commented on June 16, 2008: One more thing, you might want to compress your video before uploading to the site. Compression makes your video size a lot smaller, making it easier and faster to upload here. Also, it appears the video size looks like 400x300 pixels, so you also might want to try and match those dimensions up or your video might end up looking a bit stretched or distorted. The video upload application allows common video formats, such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG, which allows people who make movies in common programs such as iMovie or basic editing programs to publish their personal videos. To have the ability to create YouTube-like videos is powerful and I'm glad to see a handful of member take advantage of this feature! |

It automatically takes you to a screen to fill in the information about your video (title, excerpt, description, and tags). You'll want to fill in this info to provide a thorough description of what visitors are watching! |

josiah commented on June 16, 2008: Ahava, to upload a video, it's actually quite simple once you get the hang of the process. Go to the "Upload Video" button in the right-hand menu, and scroll towards the bottom of the page. Click "Load Video", where you will be prompted to browse and locate the movie from your computer. You'll see the video in the box to the left and just click "Start Transcoding", which will convert your movie to the right format. Once that is down, all you do is click "Start Upload" button to finish the process. Hope that helps a bit! |
