Thank you, Ahavalou! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. What do you think the answer is? Why can't the House of God be a safe haven for those of us who want to be in community and fellowship, not to mention a place where those seeking God can find encouragement? Instead, I see there the world's way -- cliques, jealousy, power, control, anger. What do you think?

Ahavalou commented on February 18, 2010:

I agree Pinkyrose. There seems to be a lot of talk about Torah, but I find there is a lack of Love, Mercy and Grace with other groups of believers.

pinkyrose commented on January 26, 2010:

I'd like to know why the Messianic Community isn't united?! We should be the most united of spiritual faiths. Instead, the "Community" seems polluted by power, prestige, egos, hatred, jealousy, prejudice -- everything our Messiah, Yeshua, is against!

shlomo commented on September 26, 2009:

Shalom everyone, I also believe we should focus on scripture in context. We do need to establish a talk room. how can we do this. Can it be done on this site. Can we even come to an agreement of time and length per session? This is a very important step, we must take it and take it soon. Let us bless this coming year after Yom Kippur with this very act of attempting to bring us together to talk as family not bickering neighbors. Shalom to all, and Shalom B'Yisrael.

Yah, I agree. Let's pray for those who are lost, whether in the Talmud, religion, or the pagan world. It's not just about reaching souls through teaching, and preaching, but through our obedience that is wrought by faith with the evidence of His righteousness in our every action. Our obedience to His word through pure motives of Love for Him, and for our fellow man, and not for merit, or favor in a man-made hierarchy. We are bond-servants. Inspiredfaith had an excellent point, "None of us can be exactly in the same place at the same time in Faith because it is a function of the Father's new covenant with each of us." So let's just accept each other where we are our walk with Yah, and level of understanding. A believer that is really wanting and seeking Yah will find Him. I believe there are spiritual strongholds that have been working against us getting past a certain point in our search for truth, but these strongholds are being broken. We too have a stronghold, and it is His name, however, we have been blinded and confused as to what it is and how to say it; if we should say it; and if so; how? Judaism teaches us against saying His name, Christianity teaches us a greek version of His name that although I still believe in, I realize that His name in it's original tongue has more meaning and power. I believe this is a topic we should all consider together in our efforts toward unity.

shlomo commented on September 06, 2009:

That is so true Ahava, The written word and only that, not self supporting ideology.

inspiredfaith commented on May 20, 2009:

When I first came to Yeshua, almost 10 years ago in my living room in Kiryat Yam, Israel, I quickly learned how grateful I was to have come from bring a Jew to a Jew that follows the Jewish Messiah. As I started to learn, I quickly realized that the Father nor the Son change anything and all was before the creation and will be after. Every time I cam across scripture that looked like the Father had changed His mind or that looked like Yeshua stated something that changed what the Father said, I realized it was the way I was looking at it and my "Greek" way of thinking. Through the Holy Spirit I was kept away from man's writings and studied the scripture (all 66 books) I find that when some thing appears to change or is contradictory, if I study it long enough or pray about it I, in the end see that all is the same. No new religions created, no changes of mind, but ONE united. Until all decide to depend on the WORD alone, until all decide their opinions mean nothing, there will be no unity. Too much ego to trip over. None of us can be exactly in the same place at the same time in Faith because it is a function of the Father's new covenant with each of us (Jeremiah 31:31 Hebrews8:10) He is our tutor but we all need shepherds that work for Him to guide us. We can not walk in spiritual anarchy. We are to meditate on HIS Word day and night not man's words. If we do this we succeed. It is time to leave manmade rules and interpretations behind us, come together and fellowship and let the Father teach us. In HIS service All day everyday

shlomo commented on May 16, 2009:

This can only be done if it is the will of G*D. Like the Shema states, which all of us recite I am sure, and again is repeated through out the scripture, G*D is one. Their can only be one G*D. This also means there is only one WORD, ONE TRUTH, and only ONE UNIVERSE we all share. It is said that the Gentile should grab hold of the skirt of a JEW, It is said that the Gentile can be graft upon the tree. Gentiles and Jews both should recognize the truth in Yeshua and his mission here on Earth and in his rebirth. We as Messianics need to show the non believing Jews the truth of Yeshua, and as Yeshua has said if they do not want to hear than shake the dust from your feet and move on. As well as those who chose to live by the Law shall be judged by the Law. I think an online debate section would be a good idea so we can discuss, with respect to one another, the scriptural truth. I feel that, and no dis-respect meant, that a huge problem here is that some follow Talmudic Law which was written by Rabbis to explain the laws of G*D, but I believe based on scripture that that was the very law Yeshua nailed to the cross. The facts were set pretty straight by Yeshua and his apostiles. The fact is that many chose not to accept Yeshua, they cannot and will not let the Talmud go and follow the actual writings of G*D. This debate will really not resolve much on any large scale, but if you bring a few souls to Yeshua's truth, that is still a great accomplishment. We must remember that we are all Jews here. G*D will not discard his people. I often think what is meant by the statements of Yeshua in John chapter 3 thru 12 about the he who believes in me. When you read these you can't deny the truth and yet..... I would love to figure out how to convince my brothers and sisters stuck in the Talmudic Laws the truth of Yeshua, I have only found that the truth can only be spoken and heard on a case by case basis. If anyone has a tool to straighten out that fence I would love to learn. Toda Raba

edah1308 commented on April 21, 2009:

i'm really beginning to realize that it takes us assembling together and hearing Fathers' word as a body, and then doing our best to do what we hear as a body. We are the body He is the head. No more one man ministries, but the children of Israel coming together in the power of His Spirit. No matter what biases we have or scriptural interpretations, misunderstandings, traditions. All will be made clear as we simply obey the voice of our shepherd. Then as we begin to come closer together in His love then biblical structure will be easier, communities become natural, then we will be able to do His word and live His Torah. What do you think?

Levi commented on March 09, 2009:

I agree, so what is it going to take?

edah1308 commented on March 04, 2009:

I find it odd that after all of this discussion on unity that it just stopped suddenly and nobody wants to build on what we have established. I'm sure a few things were said that some of us may not like to hear, but in order to reach a place of unity we need to push past our biases and prejudice. We need to understand each others struggles as our own. This particular topic to me is very critical. We can't afford to keep ignoring the reality of this problem.

edah1308 commented on February 08, 2009:

Shalom all I believe the central issue is respecting each others way of walking. Respecting each others journey. Each soul is a universe all it's own with our own perceptions of life, or G-d, our own unique understanding and experiences. This is what is meant by love your brother as yourself. Being able to have respect on each others totally different interpretations and experiences while all are looking to Torah and Yahshua as our guide and example. I agree with David concerning Idols. For example the symbol of the fish we use to identify ourselves as "Messianic," I don't believe that this way is pleasing to G-d, it seems to be more of a problem than a good thing. I'm not an Orthodox Jew, but if I was, I'd be shaking my head in disgust. When someone becomes a covenant child of G-d that means no idols. It's a matter, like Mia said, of not being able to see the forest for the trees. It is because most of us have grown up in or around this Pagan Christian hypocrisy; a world that's whole social structure is nothing but the continual leading astray from G-d's Commandments, man worshiping G-d any way he sees fit, and teaching others to do the same. The way I look at it is this: Anything that comes between G-d and his reality and us living in his reality, can be an idol, whether it be a carved nick-nack, an image, or even a man. Where is our heart? Idols cause blindness to the spiritual reality of our Creator. He's is all there is, there is nothing else. Concerning the name Jesus, although we don't agree with it's use, we as believers must understand that everybody is coming in at different levels of understanding. I don't believe it's wise to condemn people for simple ignorance before they even have a chance to hear good reason and make up their own mind. To many Christians that are awakening to Torah, the process of realizing and acknowledging his name, among other things, can take time. That's not to mention the fact that some people are finding Torah and have yet to receive the Holy Spirit. We have to consider the possibility that many of us who disagreeing on so many things, or finding fault may not be Spirit filled. However, even if these things be so, if our soul desires the Creator and we do our best to Love Him and our brothers and sisters with all our hearts, we will have unity.

Mia commented on December 26, 2008:

You will not have Unity unless you stop having leaders and decide Yeshua and Torah is your only Guide. Build the Communities first then build the internal hierarchy since you all seem to be determined to keep this Nicolaitans Doctrine of got to follow the preacher.Or what ever you call him. Just lay down your hammers and pick up your hands hearts and minds and move close to each other. To bad you cant see the tree's for the forest. Look at your brother Judah, go to your nearest Chabad house or Jewish community and learn. Then build. Shalom Mia

davidethain commented on November 20, 2008:

I disagree 100% with the conference idea. Christians have conferences...are they united? What we need to do is have a REAL community! Even the Messianic "community" in Toronto is divided already. Rumors, condemnation, in bed with paganism, racism. It just makes us no better than Christians with fringes on our garments. We also need to be rid of this "compromise with evil" attitude. I want NOTHING to do with the names jesus or lord....its YAWEH and YAHSHUA. Also, No idols! Messianic homes and synagogues still have idols....something formed in the image of something else thats in heaven or on earth. A little "Ornament" or "keepsake" or "souvenier" are most likely carved and crafted idols. We are getting rid of the idols in our home...you would not believe the BOXES of things the average believer has! Wrestling dolls, boxing rabbis, statues of dolphins.... all must go. We convict those who miss the 4th commandment, we miss the 2nd! If Yahweh is going to read the Messianic Banner from earth, lets have it read clear! It should say "WE LOVE YOU...we are formed in your image and are being conformed to the mind of Messiah. Shalom Yerushalim" Keep in mind...the above is just one man's humble opinion about how Mesianics need to live. I'm mainly preaching to myself...but I like the community idea. David

Mia commented on November 08, 2008:

I think the answer is right under all your noses start forming actual Messianic communities not messianic Church's build infrastructure such as Kosher markets and schools let people have their different opinions but stand on Torah, quit! all this division on splinter theology, Within Jewish community's all over the world there are different idea's and theology, many Rabbi's and many minds but when it comes to Torah they all stand. Your business of big "I's" and little "you's" has to give way to everyone has something they can bring to the table, You guys are never going to get it figured out until you get together and live it. So far it has been a dream now its time to make it attainable to all who wish to truly live it. This is why so many are turning to disgusting practices of Polygamy and pure junk is because their desires for community are mis guided and the adversary is taking advantage of it leading them into a fallacy of polygamy, patriarchal marriage. Just because God takes and evil and does good with it does not make it good. true Torah commited communities is the only answer in this day. So get off you duffs and get busy doing something real, banded together as you should be. Shalom Mia P.S. By the way I am not a messianic I am praying for you guys though.

Of course this is for everybody....I believe Yeshua has called to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel and to those from the Nations. In Revelation we see a multitude from every tribe, nation & tongue...welcome aboard!

brandonv commented on September 25, 2008:

Is this for only Jew's who believe or for gentiles who believe they should live as Yeshua did taking on there jewish roots????? If it is only for Jews then there will never be unity.... just asking for clarification. Shalom

matt commented on September 07, 2008:

Most important is avoiding intermarriage. Where does one go for a messianic shidduch? ive seen one or two websites which claim to be messianic but are gentiles only

jerusalemcouncil commented on July 30, 2008:

If I may, JerusalemCouncil.org exists for the very purpose of uniting Messianics at a center for dialogue and discussion on the issues that divide them (in addition to it too being a global networking site for Messianics, and addressing discussions concerning Messianic Halakha head on).

Levi commented on June 14, 2008:

I think TheMessianicCenter.com has the ability to host an on-line forum for a discussion that could be broadcast on-line an then posted on demand...if they can arrange for the time, date and people...it could happen...

Louise Alton commented on June 11, 2008:

Shalom Rabbi DF Eukel, your suggestion for an online conference/forum for the Messianic Outlook Conference and Workshops is a very good one. You are so right to say that we need to find our common values and vision within the Body of Messiah. Communications, discussion of the issues and problem solving, finding solutions, all done in love and respect could bring us much closer to understanding one another. It could then be a great "ice breaker" to have such a conference within one's local community/city with the various Messianic groups participating? It would be wonderful to break down the walls that divide.

Rabbi DF Eukel commented on June 11, 2008:

Shabbat Shalom, again! The initial comments posted May 31 were intended to be brief. However, the brevity may not have achieved the information to inspire. I am strongly suggesting an online conference/forum for the Messianic Outlook Conference and Workshops focused over a day-and-a-half period, archived. "Unity in Community" begins with a common vision and values. "To the Jews first we proclaim the Good News According to Moshe" would be a common vision and values for a one-and-a-half-day conference. The different layers of The Kingdom should be able to express through break-out rooms (ruled by loving respect for one another) how their unique discipling endeavors work as anointed by Ruach HaKodesh. Finally, a summary paper/session brings to the gathered community the strengths to be made stronger and the weaknesses to acknowledge and repair with a realistic action plan to chart progress for the next year's Messianic Outlook and Workshop Conference.

Eliahu bnZohar commented on June 04, 2008:

Two Jews, three opinions? Oy! And we know that two do not walk together unless they are in agreement. But one is Torah observant, the other is not. One is raised in the community and the other is raised in the lap of our diaspora and fed on the breast of our secular society and its mores. But two and more gathered in His Name and intoxicated in his love have at this time the best unity for now.

Louise Alton commented on June 04, 2008:

I would involve all of the Messianics in my area and share the vision and the need for a community centre that would be called their own. It would include a theatre, a day care, a library, a book and resource centre, a Yeshiva, etc. The Messianic community would unite to fundraise and build a place called their own within their own community. This is what I believe is needed to unite the Messianics.

the_bright_hope_of_mankind@yahoo.com commented on June 03, 2008:

As far as resources go, I would strongly recommend the Messianic Israel Alliance. The key to unity is shared identity. The equality of shared identity as Israel (for Jews and "Gentiles") is something that is almost exclusively promoted by the MIA, from an organizational standpoint. The primary Messianic Jewish organizations have resorted to blacklisting and exclusion, which have destroyed our unity. The MIA is the single most inclusive alliance/union in the entire Messianic movement. Their theology is sound, their approach is serious, and their goals are ideal. http://www.messianicisrael.com

dovofthegalilee commented on June 03, 2008:

I can only say that drawing from sixteen years of being in the Messianic circle and being a citizen here in Israel that the problem does lie in theology, good intentions but poor display and no direction at least none discernible. The MM has concentrated on the non-issues e.g. kosher food and they have become blinded like those they have set out to save. A return to a sound foundation is the only way to build a cohesive unity...

Levi commented on June 03, 2008:

To begin with I do believe Theology is an extremely important aspect of our faith, but without some form of reaching out and finding common ground hard hitting Theology up front can simply drive people away and therefore can become useless. But, if we find common ground and can dialog it can go a long way and the expression "iron sharpens iron" can occur and then Theology, from the Word, can rise like cream. It begins with dialog.

hisamy commented on May 30, 2008:

Our focus needs to be on Yeshua and on building community together regardless of affiliation to one organization. Once we agree to work together in Yeshua, others will see we are a strong group that supports one another as HaShem instructs. If we each live according to the Scriptures as diligently as possible unity will happen. The minute we lose sight of this and follow our own programs and agendas we stumble.

AdonaiEchad commented on May 29, 2008:

I would use the Christian broadcast stations announcing The Messianic Center who we are, promoting our website for Jew and Gentile's that have the same vision and values to join in the online community. There are many Jews who are in Christian churches who want to connect with other Jewish believers that do not know how. By promoting on the air The Messianic Center would bring those listeners both Jew and Gentile to the messianic community and share the same values and vision in building a community within a community.

Janshen commented on May 29, 2008:

Unity is focus on Yeshua, strong in our faith, strong foundation in His teaching, base on Tenakh, less dependency or distraction by other books, practice love among brethren and walk in obedience to the Torah,

MissEmma88 commented on May 28, 2008:

people need to remember what makes us unique, and keep that in focus! Conferences are a great place to learn, grow and meet other messianics.

josiah commented on May 28, 2008:

Unity will come through focusing on our Messianic Jewish identity and uniting under one name, Yeshua. We must stand together, because so many people are trying to bring us down. Jews are burning our Bibles and harassing our fellow Messianics in Israel, and they need to know that they have a strong, unity support system behind them.

Ahava commented on May 28, 2008:

i think to begin building unity requires everyone to be willing to discuss the differences, whether it's in doctrine, worship or lifestyle. And keep everything based on the Bible, because that's where all the answers are
