Messianic Eschatology

Messianic eschatology refers to the coming of the Messiah or the Messianic Age . Messianics believe that Yeshua will come a second time to reign over the world in a peaceful Messianic era. When do you think the Messianic Age will arrive? What events need to take place before the Messiah comes again? What will happen to non-believers in the Messianic age? Should the book of Revelations be accepted as truth?

Eschatology is the study of the end times of the world or the ultimate destiny of humanity on earth. In mysticism, eschatology refers to the end of ordinary reality and reunion with the Divine. In many religions, more broadly, eschatology refers to the Messiah or Messianic Age, the end time, and the end of days.

The Bible uses "apocalyptic eschatology", most notably in the Book of Revelation, in conjunction with the Book of Daniel, which discusses the final purpose of creation and contrary to popular belief, it does not describe how the world will end. It does this through symbolic language, which uses familiar descriptions to explain eschatological truths and scholars believe that it should not be taken literally.

An example of symbolic language in the book of Revelation is when it talks about a beast coming out of the water. In the same chapter it is then explained that the water is symbolic for people. So the beast came out of a "sea of men", basically a socially powerful man who came out of society. It shouldn’t be interpreted as a giant monster coming out of the ocean and terrorizing everyone.

The author of Revelations identifies himself as "John" and beyond this know fact, controversy surrounds the book. The early Church did not want to include it in the New Covenant because of the opportunity for many to misinterpret it. Martin Luther claimed that Yeshua was no where to be found in the book and did not accept it as divine truth.
