Messianic Jews win Court Case for Immigration
A court ruling in Israel is a step in the right direction for Messianic Jews living in the land. The Supreme Court of Israel ruled on Wednesday that being a Messianic Jews cannot legally prevent members of the Jewish community from immigrating to Israel and achieving citizenship, only if the father is of Jewish descent, which is an interesting point considering Jewish law holds the belief that the Jewish lineage is passed from generation to generation through the mother’s line.
Initially, Messianic Jewish immigrants seeking Israeli citizenship were denied this privilege because they were accused of "committing missionary activity", which holds no legal grounds for refusal of citizenship.
