The Haggadah is a text that contains the order of the Pesach seder, and it means "the telling" or passing along the story of the Israelites flight to freedom from Egypt as told in Exodus from Jewish fathers to their sons as commanded in the Torah. The Haggadah outlines the steps of the seder, which means "order". The Passover meal is done in a specific order for the meal, songs, and scripture readings.

"And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, ‘It is because of what the Lord did for me when I cam  out of Egypt.’"
- Exodus 13:8
